Now the Ghana Scholarships Authority (Act 1149, 2025). Its FAQ says awards go to students of "accredited public and private universities", but the 2026/27 call was limited to STEM and Law students in public universities. Read each new call’s criteria before you apply.

Apply: Oct 5 – Nov 27, 2026 (2026/27 call, undergraduate and postgraduate)

The portal’s eligibility check accepts "Private Institution" applicants. It turns away first-year regular students at public institutions, who are covered by No-Fees-Stress instead. You must show financial need, and an application does not guarantee an award. Apply only through the official portal.

Open to qualified Ghanaian graduates with admission to a recognised foreign postgraduate programme; the criteria set no condition on where you earned your first degree.

Ghanaian undergraduates only (not master’s or sandwich programmes), and the SLTF says only needy applicants are considered. The regular loan is GHS 2,250 – 4,500 a year at 6% simple interest (from 2025/26). A separate Students Loan Plus is a means-tested, full-fee loan paid to the institution; whether it extends to private institutions like Klintaps is not yet confirmed, so ask before you rely on it. Repayment is due after a grace period, whether or not you have a job. The 2025/26 portal closed on Jul 15, 2026.

The SLTF advisory lists students at "accredited public or private" institutions as eligible, but it is addressed to public institutions and its payment process runs only through them. Ask your school’s finance office and the SLTF how to be included before you rely on it.

The site shows no dated application cycle (latest date on it is 2021), and its named beneficiaries attend public institutions. Confirm with the Foundation that the programme is running and covers private universities before you apply.

Apply: Opens 30 October 2026 (WAAW scholarship page); closing date not yet published

For 1st- and 2nd-year undergraduates (3rd year of a 5-year course). WAAW excludes core medical programmes, naming Medicine and Surgery, Nursing and Optometry, so MBChB and Optometry students are not eligible; Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences are named as eligible. Check other programmes against the current call.

Secondary-school (A-level) scholarships, not university funding. Often listed as “African Gifted Hands”; listed so you target the right awards.

For girls who finished secondary school within the last two years, placed at Zawadi partner universities, so it cannot fund study at Klintaps. The 2026 call published only a Kenya deadline; confirm with Zawadi whether a Ghana call is running.

Scholars are identified through CAMFED’s community programme in its districts, not by open application, and no current call was found (Oct 2026). Listed so you target the right awards.

Engineering only, drawn from Telecel’s partner universities (2025 and 2026 cohorts: KNUST, UG, UCC, UMaT, GCTU). We found no open public call. Listed so you target the right awards.

Apply: US-Canada programme: 15 Sep to 15 Jan (other programmes have their own dates)

Study in Ghana, including at Klintaps, does not qualify. Listed for Ghanaian women continuing their studies abroad. Certificate, undergraduate, graduate and postdoc students can apply.

PhD candidates in their second year or later, or postdocs, only. MSc/MPhil students and undergraduates are not eligible. Relevant to faculty pursuing doctorates. The 2026 call closed on 15 May 2026.

Open to in-person undergraduates at public or private institutions in Ghana (online study excluded). Asks for at least 4As and 4Bs in WASSCE.

Not accepting scholarship applications as of Oct 2026, and no public or private rule is published. Check the Foundation’s scholarship page for the next call.

Apply: 1 Feb – 31 May (2026 cycle)

For first-year or continuing first-degree students at public tertiary institutions only, listed so you don’t spend an application on it. Applicants who already hold another scholarship should not apply.

You apply through a partner, not to the Foundation, and university-route awards are held at that partner. Klintaps is not a partner, so check the partner list and any CAMFED route rules before applying.

Apply: Annual call; the 11th Class closed 1 Oct 2026

Leadership training and mentorship, not fee support (scholars get a participation stipend). Open to first- and second-year students aged 23 or younger at any recognised tertiary institution in Ghana. Applications run through kufuorscholarapplication.com.

Apply: 1 Dec – 1 Mar (2026 cycle)

For in-country study with no public-only rule, so a genuine option for Klintaps students. Partial award that does not cover all costs; scholars must do 100 hours of community service a year. Applications run through WMI’s online portal.

Only students at the listed public universities and polytechnics may apply. Listed so you don’t waste an application.

Apply: 6 Jul to 2 Oct (2026 cycle, closed)

Government-owned institutions only, per its 2026 guidelines. Listed so you don’t waste an application.

GNPC’s own page conflicts: it cites “any GTEC accredited” and “public or private” institutions, but limits continuing students to public institutions. Recent calls reported elsewhere limit undergraduate awards to public institutions. Confirm with GNPC and apply only via gnpcghana.com.

Apply: Opens Aug, closes Oct (the 2027/28 call has closed)

Any undergraduate degree that qualifies you for a UK master’s counts, wherever you earned it. You need at least two years’ work experience (2,800 hours) and must return to Ghana for two years after the award.

EPOS courses ask for relevant work experience and each course sets its own requirements and deadline. Check the course page and the DAAD scholarship database.

Apply: 10 Jan – 20 Feb (2026 call)

Study takes place in Türkiye, not at Klintaps. Klintaps graduates can apply for master’s and doctoral places.

For 2027/28 Ghana is eligible for Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships but not for PhD Scholarships. You need a 2:1 first degree (or a 2:2 plus a relevant postgraduate qualification) and must show you could not afford UK study without the award. The 2027/28 call closed on 20 October 2026; nominating bodies set earlier deadlines.

An international pathway (South Africa), not funding for study at Ghanaian institutions. Health science is included but medical and veterinary degrees, including MBChB, are excluded.

Commercial products: the borrower must be employed, and rates, tenor and repayment vary. The loan is not tied to a school. Ask your bank, and compare against the SLTF first.
