Early Career
Served as a Medical Officer in underserved regions of Ghana, gaining firsthand experience of healthcare challenges. Later appointed as Medical Director at Jirapa District Hospital in the Upper West Region for 4 years, where he also lectured at Jirapa Nursing and Midwifery Training School.
Academic Leadership at UCC
Appointed as the founding Head of the Department of Medical Imaging at the School of Medical Sciences (SMS). Also served as founding Head of the Department of Imaging Technology & Sonography at SAHS. Developed two pioneering BSc programmes: Radiography and Diagnostic Medical Sonography, with the first cohort graduating in 2020.
Founding Klintaps
Identifying 'an enormous deficit in the training of health professionals in Ghana,' Prof. Gorleku founded Klintaps University College of Health and Allied Sciences to provide quality, hands-on education and bridge the gap in the healthcare workforce.
