BSc Physician Assistant – Medical

Physician Assistants (PAs) are licensed clinicians who practice medicine in every speciality and setting. They are medical professionals who diagnose illness, develop and manage treatment plans, prescribe medications, and often serve as a patient’s principal healthcare provider. Our curriculum is modelled on the medical school curriculum that involves both didactic and clinical education training. We train students who are always prepared and dedicated to expanding access to care and transforming health and wellness through patient-centred, team-based medical practice. Generally, Physician Assistants can take medical histories, conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illness, order and interpret tests, develop treatment plans, prescribe medication, counsel on preventive care, perform procedures, assist with surgery, engage in clinical rounds in hospitals and nursing homes and do clinical research.
